“Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
-Romans 12:2
Guys. I struggle every single day with my, “DOUBLE D’S.”
For me, the devil continually uses these two things in my life… I’m not talking about bra size, ladies! But, now that I’ve got your attention.
Distraction: Have you ever been driving on the highway and you have a clear destination in mind? Then you see billboard after billboard offering you Starbucks, delicious restaurant stops, and big flashy signs that keep your eyes and mind off the road? Or, maybe it’s that sneaky cellphone that is constantly lighting up-which for me can be more addicting than anything? Well.. I keep hearing a gentle whisper to keep my eyes on the road! There are so many GOOD things that I want to get involved in.. but recently I’m realizing that it’s not stopping me from my destination, but because I’m so distracted, it’s taking me twice as long to get there!
Discouragement: You guys, I struggle with this hard. This is real. Just when I have a big “win” spiritually, emotionally, marriage-wise, or in my career it seems like a wave of discouragement washes over me. Once again, I feel like I don’t measure up to someone else.
Today I’m sharing this with you because I want to offer you support-see what I did there??. When we are aware that we struggle with the Double D’s then we can combat it by anticipating and fighting back. So strap on that bra, and realize that it’s the devils way of leading you off course. Tell yourself the truth people!
