Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. (Mathew 9:20)
Distractions versus Interruptions. God let his life be interrupted by MANY people, but he was never distracted from his purpose. It is learning to know the difference.
Distractions: I have found myself so exhausted that I just want to melt into a puddle and waste time. Yes. I mean the mindless scroll. But, I know that is Satan trying to derail me from being effective.
Interruptions: My children waking me up at the crack of dawn because of Daylight Savings and not napping. This frustrates me when I think of it as a setback from doing God’s work. Once I change my perspective that THIS IS HIS MOST important work, then I can flourish. This is once again, Satan..because sometimes LIFE’S interruptions are really the work God wants us to be doing at the moment, whilst DISTRACTIONS are usually hinderances to the work God is doing in and through us.
It’s easy to weigh our life in measurable goals. It’s not easy to judge ones life in how we love. Today, I challenge you to know the difference. Tend to the those sweet interruptions, and shut down those petty distractions.
