9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,

I took time off of blogging and writing to focus on my baby boy, Hudson. As I would wake up in the morning, I would be caught off guard by how utterly exhausted I was from all the late night feedings. I’d find myself dozing off all-night, and then dozing off in the morning for my devotionals.
I became frustrated with the fact that during this time, I was not hearing from GOD. Was he silent? Where was he? I began to get so frustrated that I realized my frustration was pointing me towards a deeper problem.
I was making the story about me. I was looking to him to fill myself up. It had become a way to address my problems, instead of learn about his character. I began to feel a tug to begin my prayer time with PRAISE and WORSHIP.
I realized God was desiring my attention. He wanted me to spend time worshiping, and then learning about his character. He wanted me to fall deeper and deeper in love with him, not just use him to fix my issues.
I felt that during this maternity leave, I wasn’t supposed to learn or study the characters of the Bible. I wasn’t supposed to apply it to my life. I was supposed to lean in and worship. I was supposed to start my morning simply praising God. In the Lord’s prayer we are taught how to pray. It’s no surprise that after addressing God, the first line is a line of PRAISE. We should always address God first and foremost in praise and worship.

How does God TEACH us to pray? “…Hallowed be Your Name…” We are to worship his name. Are you familiar with God’s names and who he describes himself as? We must begin with worship, and getting to know HIM.
Thank you for this, we do forget that it’s not about us. He is worthy of our praise, just because He is.
YES! Agreed! Amen!!!
