“Roll your works upon the Lord (Commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and) so shall your plans be established and succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3 AMP)
My goals and aspirations get longer every day. I have so many things I want to accomplish. But every time I get a little too busy, I’m reminded that God delights in the desires of my heart, rather than in results. He wants to see my aspirations used for his Glory. As I’ve grown closer to him, I’ve seen my desires change to become more aligned with his, rather than aligned with my own “to-do” list.
As we commit our ways before the Lord, he directs our steps. Commit your ways to the Lord, and lean in on his promises. That is the only way to guarantee success. His plan is far greater than you could ever imagine. God is always working behind the scenes to establish his aims here on earth. If you are willing, then you will be an integral part of the plan. He desires to see the righteous prevail and the wicked perish.
In Psalm 37:23, it says, “The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” He longs to keep his promises to you, to direct you in prosperous ways. Dwell on those promises, and know that he will direct your steps.
In planning your days, give your checklist to him. Listen to his instruction and not those of others. The Message translation says, “Start with God—the first step in learning is bowing down to God; only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning” (Proverbs 1:7 MSG). If Noah hadn’t listened to God’s crazy plan, he wouldn’t have continued living after the great flood. His family wouldn’t have been saved from a perilous ruin (Genesis 5:32-10:1).
If the Holy Spirit is nudging you, then act! He is the voice of truth. Noah acted on the promise of God by building the ark. It was faith that made Noah believe God at his word, and because of Noah’s great faith he was saved from bodily harm.
We can be confident in this, “Roll your works upon the Lord (commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and) so shall your plans be established and succeed” (Proverbs 16:3 AMP).
