“And now, Lord, what do I wait for and expect? My hope and expectation are on you.” (Psalm 39:7)
What is the VOID you are trying to fill today? Mine was an unmet expectation of a friend. So much of our lives are built on what we believe to be TRUE of ourselves, and others. We are constantly in an inner dialogue that tells us to gauge our reactions off of how other people act.
Truth be told: what if others limitations never spoke to our self-worth. Instead, what if, the burden of expectation that we placed on others was replaced with our expectations of Jesus. Expect and wait on God to fill the empty voids that others have created. This leads us to a narrative that is always overflowing with HIM. We need to remind ourselves time and time again that our needs can not be met by the people in our lives, but only by HIM. Let’s release those people of the burdensome expectations and be filled with the HOPE that can only come from him.
Oh this is a good one Mikella!
Ahh I’m so glad you were able to relate!!!:)
This is so good and spoke to something I am dealing with right now. Thank The Lord that He meets us where we are and will fill that void, but we have to reach for Him. Thanks for sharing and being sensitive to His leading.
So so so true! Thanks so much for reading, Anita!!!
