Happy (almost) Mother’s Day! One of the verses that has carried me through motherhood is: “Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” (Lamentations 3:23)

But, I don’t just claim this verse for myself. I regularly speak it over everyone in my life.

Yup! I got that one down. His mercies are NEW every morning for me, I’m going to bask in that grace today, such a beautiful promise.

But, have you ever applied this to someone you are struggling with? Gulp. This promise doesn’t just cover you, friend. It was written for them as well. His mercies are new for THEM every morning.

That’s right. Let’s do an exercise today: His mercies are new every morning for: insert name. #chasingsacred

Reluctant. MANY Biblical prophets and servants were reluctant to do what God asked of them. Why? Insecurity or lack of skill. [share and save as a reminder]

If you are discouraged today READ and SAVE this:

Moses, “I am unskilled in speech” (Exod. 6:12 NAS)

Gideon, “O Lord, how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father's house.” (Jdg. 6:15 NAS)

Jeremiah, “I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth.” (Jer. 1:6 NAS)

Amos, "I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees.” (Amos 7:14)

They did not think they had what it took. But, we can focus all day on our lack. If God asks something of us, it is not about what we have, it is about our dependence on the one who provides what we NEED.

He will empower you with his strength. He mercifully gives us what we need to do what he asks. Watch my stories on the Holy Spirit today if you need more encouragement and comment below if you have ever felt reluctant. #chasingsacred

“You are allowed to make mistakes in everything except Biblical interpretation,” said no-one ever.

There seems to be an unsaid rule that we have permission to learn and grow unless it’s related to our theology and the Bible, then we need to know it all-less we be called a heretic.

Here it is: I am first and foremost a student of God’s Word, then a teacher.

When it comes to our core doctrine of faith, we must be rooted in Gospel truth: We were separated from him. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead. We must repent and believe in God. (not by works but instead by grace through faith we are saved) We are then promised eternal life with him. (Ephesians 2:8)

When it comes to your Bible Study habits and Bible reading: may we be diligent in searching out truth, may you never feel that you have fully arrived, but instead always approach the text with curiosity and humility.

Let’s focus on the word influential. In this day

Let’s focus on the word influential. In this day and age we have made a celebrity culture around self-made influencers. (Save and share) swipe right for more!!!

When someone decides they want to publish a book, one of the first things your publisher will ask you is: how big is your audience and what important people will endorse you?

This means we have created a culture where people are vying for not just any audience but an audience made of important people.

But, in humility I want to point something out about Jesus. God chose shepherds to be his audience at Jesus birth. Then Jesus chose fishermen, a tax collector, a zealot and a thief for his inner circle.

Lastly, when Jesus rose again he chose women to be the first witnesses to his resurrection. Women would have been seen to be the least credible witnesses. Life is not meant to have spectators and people in the ring, we are all in this together. The next time you start comparing your audience to someone else’s, think about Jesus. #chasingsacred
